Two-Day National Conference on
“Recent Innovations in Mechanical Engineering” RIME - 2014
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a two-day National Conference on “Recent Innovations in Mechanical Engineering – RIME 2014” on 21st and 22nd November, 2014. RIME 2014 was aimed at providing a platform for practicing Engineers, researchers and students to discuss and promote research results and Technology transfer in various areas of Mechanical Engineering. The department has achieved the objective by successfully organizing the conference wherein several eminent speakers delivered invited lectures. RIME 2014 has attracted good response and received good number quality technical papers which were presented by the authors. A total of 37 papers authored by 94 people were presented in the conference spread over four technical sessions and a total of 74 delegates registered. Papers were received from reputed engineering colleges like Osmania University, premier research organizations like RCI and Industrial organization’s like NFC etc. The conference schedule is divided into four sessions namely Design, Thermal Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. Each session is chaired by an expert in the field.
The inaugural session is presided by the Hon’ble Vice-Chairman, MES, Mr M. Krishna Kumar. Sri A.K. Chakrabarti, former Director, DRDO graced the occasion as chief Guest. Dr T. Raghu, scientist ‘G’, DMRL delivered the key note address and also as guest of Honour. Principal, Dr P.A. Sastry and Head of the department, Dr M. Madhavi shared the dais.
The valedictory function is presided by Hon’ble Chairman, MES, Dr M.V. Sridhar and Dr S. Rajesham, former Professor, IITM, attended as Chief Guest. Participation certificates were distributed to all the participant delegates by Chief Guest, Dr M.V. Sridhar, Principal and Head of the Department. Cash prizes were given for three best papers presented in the conference.
