International Yoga Day 2016

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June, 2016. The Event was organized by Department of Physical Education. The event started with a brief talk by Dr.P.A. Sastry. He indicated that yoga helps to improve physical and mental health of an individual which in turn leads to a peaceful state of mind.

While addressing, Vice-Principal made out that yoga is not a religious practice and advised everyone to make Yoga a part of their life.

Dr.M. Basavaraja expressed that anyone can practice yoga irrespective of age and also stressed the importance of yoga in daily life.

On this occasion, Chief Guest Mr. Gopala Krishna, Yoga Teacher, demonstrated different yoga postures and explained benefits there on.

Faculty performed different yoga postures under the supervision of the yoga teacher.

Miss Manasa, Student of BE Mechanical II Year demonstrated difficult yoga postures along with the chief guest.

Prof. SGS Murthy Vice-Principal, Dr.P.A. Sastry Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr.M. Basavaraja OSD, Dr.N. Srinivas Physical Director, Faculty, Staff and Students participated actively in the event.
