Campus Placement Drive
Tensed faces, worried minds and relaxed faces - wherever you see, be it canteen, blocks or classrooms - the college was filled with such students of 4th year. The placement cell was filled with students who were eagerly waiting to appear for recruitment. Recession made the software companies slow down their recruitment process yet MVSR Engineering College managed to get the topmost companies to the college. Although the placements started a bit late, they yielded good results with a good number of students getting placed.
Wipro was the first company to come to MVSREC, followed by Capgemini, MAQ, CTS & Infosys. The intake of these companies was 121, 43, 1, 65 and 93 respectively. Some companies had the pre-placement talk, wherein they showed the students how the life of a software engineer would be if they are into their respective companies. One of the Capgemini Software Engineer said, “We are looking for the confidence and articulation which are so important to survive in an IT sector. Only the students who are technically strong would be forwarded to the next level which is an interview process, so we are more interested in their academic as well as candidates’ interests and skills”.
HRs’ from cognizant spent 10 minutes of their invaluable time and had a succinct talk with the placement coordinators. They were impressed by the alacrity and the support received from the Placement Coordinators of our college and appreciated the commitment shown towards the work. They asked to move forward with the same enthusiasm and zeal. They suggested the students to manage time while they take the aptitude test and also to improve the standards in verbal section. A package (technically strong, effective communication skills, willpower and determination to work) is what they were expecting in a student.
The Placement in-charge, Mr.Prasanna Kumar Sir - a veteran and an icon in the placement cell - with his strategic and relentless persistent efforts in career counseling ensued the influx of crème de la crème software companies and ably placing the students in deserving top positions, not to mention, in Software, Core, Managerial, Functional, Banking and Governmental Organizations even during the time of recession. His ingenuity and outstanding placement record draws all accolades. It was with his support that the companies showed interest in coming to the college. “Prasanna Kumar Sir was very supportive in all the aspects and made the candidates feel comfortable during the time of recruitment. He took care of each and every student by providing them with facilities needed. Placement in-charge Mrs. Radha arranged some placement coordinators who helped the final year students at their difficult times and I am pretty much happy to be a Placement Coordinator this time”, says Srujana Konakanchi, a student of CSE-3/4 and a Placement Coordinator.
