Dr. A. V. Krishna Prasad is a distinguished academician, researcher, author, and thought leader in the domains of Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, and Emerging Technologies. He is currently serving as Head of the Department of Information Technology at MVSR Engineering College, Hyderabad, with over 26 years of rich teaching and academic experience. He is also the Chairman of the Computer Society of India (CSI), Hyderabad Chapter for the term 2025–26.

He is a recognized Ph.D. Research Supervisor for JNTU Hyderabad, Osmania University, and KL University, and has successfully guided five Ph.D. scholars, with several more currently pursuing their doctoral research under his supervision in the areas of Data Science and Machine Learning. An accomplished author, Dr. Krishna Prasad has published six textbooks in areas such as Data Science, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, and Blockchain Technology, including works on the convergence of Big Data and the Internet of Things, earning recognition and royalties for his publications.

His scholarly contributions include more than 65 research papers published in reputed international journals and 17+ conference publications at both national and international levels. He has delivered numerous keynote addresses and invited technical talks at various conferences and has organized several workshops on emerging areas such as Big Data Analytics, Data Science, ChatGPT, and Large Language Models (LLMs). Under his leadership as Chairman of the Computer Society of India, Hyderabad Chapter, he has played a key role in achieving a world record recognition through the CSI AI100K.

Dr. Krishna Prasad actively contributes to the academic and research community by serving on the editorial boards and review panels of reputed international journals, including AIRCC journals, Elsevier, IJCSIT, and CSC Journals. He is also a certified reviewer for leading publishers such as Elsevier and McGraw-Hill, and has contributed as a mentor and evaluator for national initiatives like the Smart India Hackathon and Toycathon. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, and has significantly contributed to curriculum development and syllabus revision for universities such as Osmania University and Vignan University.

His excellence in teaching and academic contributions has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Bheeshma Acharya Award – 2025, Best Teacher Award – 2024, Master Educator Award – 2023, and Gold Medals for Best Teacher in 2003 and 2005. His research interests span Database Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Data Science and Analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He is a life member of professional bodies such as CSI, IETE, ISTE, ISOC, and CSTA, and also a member of ACM.
